I was running TERRIBLE the whole day. I played mostly on FTP and a bit on Stars and just couldnt get anything going. Had a nice few runs later in the day. I was gonna stop aroudn 6-7pm but for some reason I couldnt. I knew if I kept playing how I was it was time to bink something or just play this stupid variance out and hopefully have a better week. So I took a 15 min break around 8:45 and decided to start a nice session at 9pm. Also the 11pm $26 6max KO was coming up which is one of my favorite tournaments right now. So I think I did a solid reg from 12 noon to about 1am in the morning. The last tournament being the $26 18k GTD.
I was down to my last 2 tournaments an $8.80 180 and the 18k gtd....ended up busting out of the 8.80 in 21st place, couldnt really remember what happened.
The 18k fell short of meeting the GTD which was decent. I was in the zone really paying attention to spots that I could pick up some chips. I had a stack around 14-25bbs when we were down to about 3-4 tables. I picked some good spots...one some key flips....ATs into 88...hit runner runner flush (ty about time). Ended up getting to the final table I think 2/9 or something. A lot of players were decent players but losing overall. I was only worried about 1 guy and obivously he was seated directly to my left with around the same stack as me. I let the donks kill each other and we were down to 6th and I was still in 2nd with about 425k, CL has about 500-600k or so.
Heres how you DO NOT play at the final table with big stacks...which for some reason I LOVE to tango with them and they bust me 99.9% of the time.
Set up:
blinds 8k/16k + antes.....6th stack has 40k....yes 40k....2BBS!!!!!!!!!! wtffff.....anyways...im on the button....good guy is in SB chip leader in BB...i get 66...raise it up about 2.4 to about 36-38k or something....BB 3 bets to about 74k...ding ding ding ding...he's not so good and raising good hands here...even if he wasnt this is call/fold on flop...or just fold it right there. I've played 3349320343 sngs and know ICM pretty well..and what do i do....RESHIP! 66 right into KK...dohhhh...busted 6th for $810. 1st pays $4320 :(
19.5 hour day at breakeven...dammit. Pretty much longest session I've pulled so far. This is going to be the norm I think once the competetion starts on P5's... I only have 23 days to ship as many tournaments as possible. So volume is going to be key because the big boys are going to be killing it so hopefully I can have some kind of edge against the Low Tier grinders. I think right now there is about 50-60 people signed up for all 3 tiers. Draft starts Wednesday so we'll see who I get on my team.
Going to try to play almost everyday this week with 1 or 2 days break and then hit it hard on the weekends. Decent April so far....my best month since I've started this blog and since I've started poker...so either A) I'm getting lucky or B) I just might be getting a little better?!
this SS makes me want to cry. Final Table NOOOOB. No worries.
Besides destorying SCOOP and MiniFTOPS 1 of my main goals during the week is to final table the $75 40k that runs at nightly at 6 or 630pm. Not only final table but also ship it. So yes I'm calling my shot, but April 30th I will be the winner of the 40k GTD. :)
Bankroll is around 2700-2800 plus an additonal $250 coming from some stupid fucker from Norway who rolled me about 1-2 months ago....I'm recieving that money back via Part Time Poker Mods because they run a great site. Thanks for that too guys.
I made a dummy schedule for miniftops too so i'll be posting that ..its gonna be a crazy may!
